We are a group of certified health and fitness professionals who are passionately committed to helping you achieve your personal best. We offer personal training as well as group training in indoor cycling, yoga, pilates, strength and core conditioning as well as kids & teen fitness, running clubs/clinics, latin inspired Zumba as well as an MD and physiotherapist supervised functional fitness exercise class. Janicke Ziemer
Janicke is our studio director and founder of Millcroft Fitness & Wellness. She holds a degree in physical and health education from Queens University and is a certified personal trainer. She also
holds numerous certifications through Can Fit Pro, ACE, Body Training Systems, Madd Dog Athletics Spinning, OASES, Ballys, Polestar Pilates and the Heart & Stroke Foundation. She has also completed many intensive trainings through Stott Pilates as well as with some of the industry's best yoga teachers including Donna Read and Hart Lazer. Janicke has been personal training, teaching group exercise as well as managing in the fitness industry for over 20 years and is currently a proud ambassador for Lululemon and is a competitive adventure racer, runner and duathlete.
Tracey Jamieson
Tracey is a Can Fit Pro certified personal trainer as well as fitness instructor, certified in First Aid and CPR, YMCA certified in Individual Conditioning and Group Fitness.. She has worked for the YMCA for over 10 years managing the Fitness Centre, Personal Training program as well as the Aerobics department. Tracey has a passion for fitness and always enjoys a challenge. Tracey also enjoys distance running and has completed many full and half marathons and in the past few years has enjoyed training and competing in trail running.
Nancy Hastings
Nancy is both a certified Johnny G Spin Instructor as well as CanFitPro personal trainer. She has completed over 25 triathlons and more than 20 running races including half marathons. Nancy is the past head coach for the Burlington Track and Field Club coaching kids between 6 -14. She is the co-race director for the Moon In June road race which has raised over $100,000.00 for local charities !! Nancy organizes a yearly 100 mile cycle trip to Niagara on the Lake and leads a local weekly "ladies only" bike ride. She sits on the board of directors for the Trialthlon Club of Burlington as well as coaches and trains new triathletes to compete in their first triathlon race.
Julie Robinson
Julie is a STOTT Pilates certified instructor and has a medical background as an RN and product trainer. Pilates is her passion and have been a practitioner for over eight years. Pilates has made a profound difference in her life and now has a mission to help one body at a time learn how to really live well in their own body and to be the very best they can be !! Julie is a very patient, passionate and enthusiastic trainer and provides a safe, refreshing and energizing full body workout. Regardless of one's current fitness level, age or gender, from elite athlete athletes to those with limited mobility, her pilates way is very adaptable method. She loves the fact that Pilates is for everybody and can be practised throughout one's life...it is never too late to start a journey that is never ending !
Dr. Paul Ziemer
Dr. Paul has been a chiropractor for over 14 years and also holds a Bachelor of Science in physical and health education from Western University. He has been a certified personal trainer through ACE and was in the first group in Canada to get Spinning certified ! He is the founder of Canadian Laser & Pain Therapy.
Katarina Liberte, RMT
Katarina is a Graduate of Sutherland-Chan School and Teaching Clinic. Her training includes a five- year Movement Therapy Diploma which inspired her to pursue a career in massage therapy. Katarina holds an HON. BACH. SC from the University of Western Ontario in Zoology. She utilizes advanced myofascial and structural integration approaches in her efforts to help clients maximize their potential for health in movement.
Dr. Nicole Ciraolo
Dr. Nicole Ciraolo graduated as a doctor of Chiropractic (DC) from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto and holds an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from McMaster University with a minor in Psychology. During her chiropractic studies, Dr Ciraolo earned her Acupuncture Diploma from the Kalibowila Hospital in Colombo, Sri Lanka where she was trained in Traditional Chinese Acupuncture. She then furthered her acupuncture certification through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada and treats numerous conditions including sports injuries, tendonitis, sciatica, arthritis, migraines, insomnia, anxiety and infertility. As a compliment to her chiropractic and acupuncture training, she is also a certified Personal Trainer and Spinning Instructor. Dr Ciraolo believes in educating her patients in all aspects of health and fitness and is dedicated to providing effective evidence based health care using a combination of therapies.
Cathie Saunders
Cathie is a certified Zumba instructor with over 20 years teaching experience in the fitness industry.
Chris Boucher
Chris is a Can-Fit-Pro certified Personal Trainer and TPI certified Golf Fitness Instructor with 20 years experience within the fitness industry. Founder of Custom Fitness, Chris specializes in one-on-one and group personal training, golf-specific workouts, VO2 assessments and metabolic training. He is also known for his calorie-blasting boot camp classes. An outdoor enthusiast, Chris enjoys kayaking, hiking and cycling.
Jane Watson
Jane is a Can-Fit-Pro certified personal trainer who has been actively training for the past five years. She enjoys working with those new to fitness, helping them achieve their fitness and weight loss goals. An avid exerciser, Jane has led 5K Learn-to-Run groups, enjoys functional training, kayaking, cycling and hiking.
Michelle Langley, BA, RMT
Michelle is an honours graduate from McMaster University and The Canadian Therapeutic College for Massage Therapy. She enjoy playing sports, camping and hiking but her true passion is travelling, as she has travelled to over 14 countries. Michelle has experience with sports massage, having clients on sports teams including the Hamilton Tiger Cats. She also has experience in pregnancy, and infant massage.
Shanine Dennill
Shanine is a certified yoga instructor. She completed her yoga teacher training with Nesta Falladown and her meditation facilitator course with Tony Murdock, at the Yoga Centre of Burlington. She has also taken workshops with Francoise Raoult in the Iyengar tradition. More recently she has been studying Anusara (which focuses on alignment with a deeper connection to the heart). This has led her to studying with Todd Norian and Anne Greene in the States, John Friend (the founder of Anusara Yoga) and other senior teachers, such as Naime Jezzeny and Sianna Sherman. Shanine teaches from the heart and encourages her students that when they step onto their mats, their yoga comes from the heart; exploring the body, mind and inner light with joy and courage. Her classes combine the strengthening aspects of yoga as well as opening typically tight areas of the body.
Patsy Commisso
Patsy has been working as a Certified Nutritionist for over 10 years with a specialty in weight loss. Three years ago, with Dr. Bector, she opened Metabolic Centres of Canada, a successful weight loss company that encompasses all aspects of healthy living including nutrition and exercise. Metabolic Centres of Canada is directed by a complete health care team: medical doctors, nutritionists, a physiotherapist and personal trainers. In working with these professionals, Patsy and Dr. Bector have created a weight loss and nutrition program based on sound scientific practices and patient education. Patsy's work with this company over the last three years has been an eye opening experience. Patsy brings a commitment to healthy living and education to our program.
Dr. Ben Fryer
Dr. Fryer attended the University of Western Ontario where he completed a four year Honours degree majoring in Kinesiology, with a special interest in Anatomy and Biomechanics. He continued on his educational path and graduated from the four year program at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College as a Doctor of Chiropractic. Throughout his training, Dr. Fryer earned full certification in the soft tissue technique ART® (Active Release Techniques) and is a certified provider. He also achieved certifications in CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist), and Medical Acupuncture from the McMaster Contemporary Medical Acupuncture program. Currently he is pursuing his post-graduate studies in sports sciences through the College of Chiropractic Sports Sciences (Canada) (CCSS(C)).
Dr. Fryer has been involved in many sports in the past and has more recently had the opportunity to work with a variety of athletes. He has experience treating acute/traumatic as well as chronic/reoccurring injuries. He is currently the Team Doctor for the Junior A Oakville Blades of the OHA and has been since the 2006 season.
Courtney Rainville
Courtney is a registered yoga teacher as well as our Kids Yoga specialist.
Nathalie Lalumiere
Nathalie is a registered massage therapist and a graduate of the Ontario College of Health and Technology. She also holds a BA from Concordia University and is currently working towards specializing in sports therapy, myofascial release techniques and Thai massage. She enjoys hiking, cycling and volunteering as a medical first responder. Nathalie is also an instructor trainer for St John Ambulance in AED, Medical First Responder, First Aid and CPR.
Dr. Neel Bector
Dr. Bector has been practicing medicine for over 11 years in the Greater Toronto Area and has cared for a number of patients with health concerns related to their weight. In his experience he found that patients with weight concerns wanted to achieve better health and a balanced lifestyle but often had no idea where to start. They would end up joining a program that they found frustrating and sometimes draining. Dr. Bector on follow-up visits would note that
patients were most frustrated with their inability to maintain their health over an extended period of time. Often the patient would follow the doctor's medical advice, join one of the many programs out there but would struggle to maintain proper nutrition and consistent, regular exercise.
